Dear Michael and Mireille:

You are, of course, most welcome.  We all enjoyed having such a big family gathering and your picture gallery reminds us of how much we did and how fun we had during your visit.  We hope you had fun exploring the island and still had the opportunity for a relaxed holiday.

We feel that we should thank you letting Vero stay with us for the summer - it was truly a pleasure and a joy to have a daughter for the first time.

You are always welcome back whenever you get the urge.  We will keep in touch and look forward to the next occasion to be together.

Dear John and Judy:

Thanks so much for having us stay with you and for everything you shared with us during our visit to Bermuda. You made us feel very welcomed into your home and family, and you were very generous in taking time and effort to make our stay an absolute fabulous one. I had such a wonderful time sorting through all our pictures, and preparing the enclosed photo-book. I hope you will enjoy it too! Also enclosed is a flash drive with the original pictures (all over 1600) as well as the same pictures after sorting #2 into categories to prepare the book (about 400).

Michael and I really enjoyed your wonderful home, our private cottage, and the opportunity to enjoy time with you. It was great to discover Bermuda. What a beautiful, colourful and lively place to be. Driving around the island on the scooter was a bit scary at times, but an excellent way to get a sense of the island’s different areas. I really enjoyed seeing all the vegetation, colourful flowers, rocky sandy shores, turquoise-blue bays, hills and valleys from behind Michael (who was mostly concentrating on the road I think).

I felt amazed that by the end of our stay, I was really starting to know my way around the island. Some of my favourite memories include climbing up the lighthouse and getting a view of a large portion of the island, the boat rides to your Long Island cottage, the BBQ on the island, as well as the day Michael and I spent there, our day trip to BIOS and Saint-George, snorkelling with the fish, our day to Cooper’s Island and Spittal Ponds, the fishing expedition, the day spent with Véro going to DockYard and to the Aquarium, and finally the day spent riding all along the south shore of  the island, relaxing at Castle Island’s sand bar, and returning all along the north shore.  But I think that it was the time spent with you and your family that perhaps impressed me the most: from the informal breakfast to the fabulous meals prepared by Imelda, and the amazing buffet dinners out, getting to know you both, and your wonderful sons better, and also meeting your friends and parents. The atmosphere was always warm and joyful, and the stories so interesting! I felt as though we were being completely included in your family, and this was most special. Michael and I would have never been able to experience the island the way we did if it had not been for your generous hospitality, and for all the time and efforts you, Alex, and Richard and Justin took to show us around.

Finally, I can’t thank you enough for being Véronique’s family for the entire summer. You made her feel completely at home, and provided her with true support, care and love which allowed her to fully enjoy and to be quite successful at her work at BIOS. I hope that we will have other opportunities to spend time together; it would be wonderful for us to share some of our favourites parts of our area with you. I hope you have an excellent fall and winter, please keep in touch!
