BBA Sunday Cycle Race

Sunday, 9th September, 2001 - There is a hurricane warning in effect, yet the fearless cyclists gather at the Runway Cafe in South Side for the race.

In the first lap, Alex leads Justin and Aaron by a margin as they climb the towards the Commissary.  They are followed a short way back by Dorian and Mark.  

But it is Ricky and Timmy who are first back form the Commissary heading to the end of the first lap.  Aaron, Alex and Justin set a strong pace on their way back, followed by Dorian and Mark.

Timmy and Ricky can be seen returning form the Clearwater leg of the course.  Alex, Justin and Aaron are too fast for the cameraman, but next comes Dorian and Mark.

Team Alex/Justin/Aaron criss-cross along the runway stretch, but the pack stays together.  Hang on, how did Charlie get in the middle of all this!! 

But like all good races, they end - thank goodness.  In the 10-and-unders, Dorian and Mark sprint across the finish. Timmy and Ricky take honours in the 11-12s (no picture - oops!) in 31:40 minutes (approx), followed by Alex and Justin in 32:36 minutes (approx), and Aaron.
